Hey everybody, Dr. John D’Ambrosio here from the Center for Life Enhancement in Woodstock, Georgia. I wanted to talk to you about diet and healthy skin today.
The Link Between Diet & Healthy Skin
A lot of people don’t really make this connection, but I think more people do today than they used to. Having a diet full of processed foods, seed oils and sugars are not the best not only for your health, but for your skin. You end up getting in a lot of cases acne. You see that with younger people as they’re going through hormonal changes, but their diets play a huge role in how their skin reacts and of course, the state of the nervous system. If the nervous system is imbalanced, it’s in a fight or flight inflammatory response and the skin is going to be inflamed as well. So for diet you really want to make sure you get whole foods, minimal added sugar and you don’t want a lot of processed foods. Again, a lot of seed oils are not a good idea. Just be cognizant of what you eat and how much water you drink and avoid lots of soda high in sugars. I just want to touch on a few points because people look for ways to improve skin health and chiropractic is important, but also what you put into your body.
